Go to the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center
If you want to learn more about space, then this local planetarium & discovery center is the perfect place for you to visit on a rainy day. This family-friendly planetarium was built as a memorial for Christa McAuliffe, the first US private citizen (part of NASA’s Teacher in Space Project) in space. In 2001 it became the official memorial to Alan Shepard, the first first American in space and one of only 12 to have stepped foot on the moon. There are special programs, hands on exhibits and a domed theater where you can watch films all within the same building.
See Science Center
Located in Manchester, NH, this Science Center is filled with fun activities for the whole family. The Science Center is an educational experience with more than 100 exhibits, summer family math workshops and plenty of opportunities to do your own actual experiments.
